I’m stuck at work. I sent a message to our group chat. Going to be here for a few hours.
Leave, I can support you. Nathan replied. I laughed because that was just what I thought he would say.
We can all chip in. Callum texted.
I’ll support you by myself if that means I get you in my bed right now, Aiden responded. I smiled at their silly responses.
Pssh, you couldn’t afford me. I sent back. I like Target runs and espresso. You’ll go broke.
Darling, I have something better than Target and espresso ;) Nathan’s response made me laugh out loud as I walked into the break room.
Two inches will not make her forget about Target and Espresso. Callum texted.
Your four inches won’t do shit either, Cal, Aiden replied. I have inches, stamina and money, baby.
Ooooh tempting, but I’m wary since I’ve experienced what the other guys have to offer. I’m not sure you can deliver, I taunted as I stirred Coffee-mate into my cup.
“Good chat?”
I looked up to see Doctor Daniel in the break room. “Yeah, I’ll need it if I’m going to get through the next few hours here.”
“Beth again?” He asked, as I stepped away from the pot.
“Yup!” I took a sip of my coffee, glancing down at my phone.
Oh Jane, I promise you, you won’t be saying that after I’m done fucking you so good that you definitely won’t be making it into work the next evening. My body shivered in anticipation as I read Aiden’s response.
Oh, Dom Aiden has come out to play.
“Jane?”
I glanced up at Daniel, feeling my face flush with arousal and embarrassment. “Uh, I’m sorry. What did you say?”
He chuckled. “Must have been an amazing conversation.”
“Yeah, my friends are hilarious,” I said, feeling anxious that he would pick up on my excitement.
“I was just saying you look happier today.” He took a sip of his coffee.
“Thanks, I had a great couple of days off.” I felt my phone buzz again. “I worked too much the weeks before, so I needed to relax.”
“Yeah, the ER can be exhausting and when you work too much, it’s mentally draining,” he said, looking at me pensively.
“Yeah, most definitely.” I checked my watch, seeing another message from Aiden.
“When’s your next day off?” Daniel asked.
“Uh, I have the next two days off and then I work two days in a row.” I chugged my coffee, realizing I had been here longer than I intended to.
“Maybe we can have breakfast after work this weekend?” he asked.
I threw my cup away. “Maybe, I am always starving when I leave here. I gotta get back to the nurses’ station.”
“Great. Yeah, I just heard a dispatcher say they had two incoming patients.” We walked out of the breakroom together.
