We both stared at Aiden in silence. I had thought about jumping on a plane to go see Jane, but was too afraid Lucio would test me and I would be in even deeper shit.
“What the fuck are we waiting for?” Nathan asked, like he couldn’t believe we were still here.
“I’ll check flights,” Aiden said, while Nathan took off to his room. I sat down on the sofa, trying to figure out what the hell I wanted to do. Was it worth the risk to go see Jane? I immediately said yes, but I knew it wasn’t the smartest thing to do. Even though he had yet to do anything major to me, I wouldn’t put it past him to either kick my ass again, or break my legs. I don’t think he would kill me, but I didn’t want to risk that either.
“You think we can get to the airport in an hour and a half?” Aiden sat right next to me as he was scrolling on his phone. “There is another flight in about four hours, that one might be better.” He was talking to himself.
“I don’t think I should go,” I said, leaning my forearms on my knees.
“Don’t listen to Nathan, you know he’s just upset, we all are,” he said, still scrolling through his phone. “She will want to see all of us and once we get there, we can all make her listen. Once we get this all sorted out, everything will be ok.” He got up from the sofa, heading to his room.
“I’m not saying she won’t be happy to see me,” I said, following him. “Though after that whole argument with Nathan I can’t help but wonder if I am just fucking it up, but that’s beside the point.”
“Cal, don’t second-guess all of this.” He went to his closet to get a bag out. “Let’s just go and we can figure shit out when we get there.”
“Don’t buy my ticket, I can’t go,” I said, more forcefully, so he knew I was being serious.
“Dude, we are wasting time. Go pack a fucking bag.” He was getting frustrated with me.
“I can’t leave because what if Lucio has another fight planned for me and if I’m gone while he calls me, I’m afraid of what might happen.” I sat on his bed, nervous and really fucking exhausted from this whole situation.
Aiden stopped what he was doing and stared at me. “Fuck, I didn’t even think about that,” he said, sitting down next to me.
