“You fucking whore,” she yelled, as she raised her hand at me, but I stayed my ground, nothing like assault charges to drive my point home. Before her hand hit my face, Darcy swooped, catching her wrist in a tight grip.
“Now, now Candy, I suggest you listen to Jane before I have my uncle add assault to those infliction of bodily harm charges.” She let go of her arm and I swear Candy pissed herself. I fucking loved Darcy.
“Fuck you, you stupid whores. I hope they tire of you really quick, Jane. You know what it feels like to be left on the side of the road.” She grabbed her purse and ran into my shoulder.
“Takes one to know one!” I shouted, as she left, realizing people were watching us. I turned around to see Candy eyeing the guys as she left. They glared at her as she passed by, and I couldn’t help but hope she was wrong. I didn’t want to be tossed aside like she had been, but we were different, right? The guys glanced at me with looks of desire and mischief, making my heart flutter.
“God, she’s such a bitch,” Darcy said, as I tore my gaze from the guys.
“Thanks for having my back. I didn’t know your uncle was a cop.” I hugged her.
“Yeah, he’s cool, so I know he’d help you out. Now go, before CAN decides the house is too far to ravish you,” she laughed.
I giggled because she wasn’t wrong. “Have fun tonight.” I winked and walked back to my waiting entourage.
When I got to the guys, I looked at Darcy, making the ‘call me’ signal behind the cute guy’s back, and she shooed me away. I saw Evan out of the corner of my eye looking at her with longing. Looks like Dev wasn’t back, so they could leave. Evan was stuck watching Darcy with another man.

The drive home was quiet, and I loved it. Nathan and Callum sat in the back of the truck with me. The warmth of both of them was intoxicating and soothing. Callum was drawing small circles on my inner thigh while Nathan held my hand, rubbing my palm.
