“Yeah, I have a bag packed and ready to go.” I walked to Nathan’s side of the car. “Let me know if he needs anything and be nice to him.”
“I’ll be nice to him for sexual favors.”
I laughed. “Well, you’re just going to do it for free.” I gave him a kiss as he pouted, and I shook my head.
“Have a good day at work, darling.” He started the car and closed the door.
“See you tomorrow.” I waved, and Nathan gave me an air kiss and threw it at me.
Smiling, I pretended to catch it and stick it down my shirt. I heard Nathan groan as they drove away, making me snicker. I went inside to grab my sandwich and overnight bag, eating on my way to work. As I parked my car, my phone started ringing and my lawyer George’s phone number popped up. I debated picking it up, but I was going to be late, so I would just call him later. I knew it was about finalizing a few things and it could definitely wait.

“Fuck my life,” I cursed under my breath as I noticed Daniel walk into Group Therapy. This is just what I needed, after the really awkward shift we just had last night.
“Uh-oh, what happened?” Darcy whispered beside me as we waited for one of the guys to take his turn at the pool table.
“Remember that doctor I told you about that Nathan said had a thing for me?” I tried to whisper.
“The one who asked you out for breakfast and kind of got salty after you turned him down.” She looked intrigued at the gossip.
“Yes, he’s been so awkward at work. I used to love working with him because he was so chill, and we had great conversations. We also commiserated about working at the hospital.” I chuckled but quickly lost that emotion when I noticed him walking to the bar. I knew it was going to be awkward as fuck when he noticed me. Aiden hit another ball in the pocket.
“Dang, Texas, you sure you don’t want to add one more to your gang of men?” she teased.
“Wait, adding to what?” Callum looked over, confused.
“Adding to your gang of men?” Nathan had heard more than Callum. “Jane, are you saying we aren’t enough?”
Darcy laughed, and I glared at her. “I’m kidding. Jane, you have more than enough men.” Nathan leaned against his pool cue.
“Who are you talking about?” Callum came closer to me, looking like he wanted to do more than just stand by me.
“No one.” I said quickly, hoping to just move past the conversation. I noticed Daniel walking toward us, but he was looking at the group at the pool table next to us. Right before he met his group, he glanced at me, and we caught each other’s eyes.
