Preslee offered a friendly smile to the camera. “Hi, everyone. Welcome to my vlog. Normally this is where I talk about antiques, but since I had such an overwhelming response to my last post, I thought I’d take the time to do a short follow-up and answer some of your questions.” She paused, not knowing what to say next. “I, ah…”
Adam placed his hand on her back and smiled, encouraging her to continue. The unexpected warmth his hand provided sent electricity shooting through her nerves, giving her the jolt she needed. Like a cattle prod guiding her into a narrow shoot.
She cleared her throat. “I’ve just started my fitness journey, so there isn’t much to tell. But I’ve got someone with me who is better equipped for answering your questions.” She gazed at Adam and smiled. “Would you like to introduce yourself?”
He returned her grin with a glint in his eye, as if he knew she’d purposely cast the focus onto him. But he didn’t call her out. Instead, he was a good sport and turned those warm, deep-set brown eyes onto the camera. “Hi, I’m Adam Caldwell, owner of the Body Shop in Granite, Texas. I’m also a certified trainer, and I’ll be working with Preslee for the next several months as she goes on this journey.”
When he glanced back at her, Preslee took the look as her cue to speak. “Um, some of you asked about what kind of foods I’m eating and what my workout schedule looks like. Well, Adam has given me a low-carb, high-protein diet plan to follow, and we’re going to be working out together five days a week with two rest days in between. Right, Adam?”
“Yep, that’s the plan.”
She nodded and gazed back at the camera, addressing her viewers once again. “Some of you have also asked how much weight I’ve lost, but unfortunately, that isn’t a question I can answer since I’ve just started and my weigh-in day isn’t until Monday.”
Adam cut in. “That sounds like a perfect day to make a weekly vlog post to give your viewers an update, don’t you think?”
Preslee blinked in shock and then gritted her teeth. “Um, yeah. I guess I can do that.”
His grin faded slightly, as if he realized that she wasn’t happy with that request. “I’m sure everyone will love hearing about your progress as we go.”
