He held himself over her as he stared at the beautiful woman beneath him. Flushed cheeks. Full lips. And a heavy-lidded gaze that met his and unraveled something deep inside of him.
Adam considered himself a strong individual—physically and mentally. But Preslee was his one, true weakness, the only thing he really wanted to overindulge in. Yet she still gazed up at him with an unsure expression that melted his heart.
He didn’t need an excuse to kiss her again, but it was a good one, if he did say so himself. Because the woman just didn’t get it. She still didn’t understand what she meant to him. Although they were different, they fit together perfectly. And he meant how they fit so easily into each other’s lives.
Although it hadn’t been all that long ago, he couldn’t even remember a time when Preslee hadn’t been in his. And he didn’t want to. She was everything good in this world, and he had fallen hard for the stunning woman. It all happened so fast, but he loved Preslee and would do everything in his power to help her achieve every single one of her goals in life.
Then he remembered about Josh.
Huh. Well, maybe not all of them.

Early the next morning, Preslee awoke to a wandering hand traveling slowly up her bare back. She didn’t need to open her eyes to know who it belonged to. After last night, she’d recognize Adam’s touch anywhere.
Still groggy, she lay on her left side, facing away from him, with a soft sheet tucked under her arm and pulled up over her breasts. A slight chill lingered in the darkened room, but the heat of his large muscular body had kept her warm throughout the night.
She had hoped to get up before him so that she could do the walk of shame before he had awoken. But apparently that wasn’t going to happen now. Not that it really mattered. She didn’t feel any amount of shame for what happened between them last night.
Oh, she was certain they were about to have a very awkward morning-after conversation. But right now, she was still too relaxed and content to move. So she didn’t. Instead, she lay there enjoying the sensations of his light touch as his broad hand traveled over her spine.
Adam shifted closer, his ripped body slanting more firmly into hers as he propped himself up with an elbow and hovered over her right shoulder. His erection pressed strongly into the back of her thigh as the scent of soap and eager male encompassed her. They’d taken a hot shower together the last time he’d awoken her before falling back into bed and dozing.
