It didn’t matter. So what if Adam smelled her hair? Even if he did like the scent, he didn’t bother to say so. If that didn’t say loud and clear, I’m not into you, then she wasn’t sure what did. So why she was sitting there trying to figure it out was beyond her. What a waste of time.
So instead, she began reading through the comments, hoping that she wouldn’t come across someone calling her a bumbling idiot. Thankfully she didn’t. But she was surprised by what she did find in the comments. A lot of really funny, well-meaning people who posted kind, positive messages to her.
Almost everyone told her that they were glad she was okay. Some who’d laughed at the video apologized for laughing but thanked her for making their day. Some commented that it was something they would’ve done by accident too. A few asked where she was working out and encouraged her to keep up the good work. And then there were a ton of messages from women who wanted to know more about her rescuer and referred to Adam as a cutie, a hottie, sexy guy, hot stuff, handsome, and muscles.
Preslee couldn’t help but laugh at the saucy messages. Mostly because she had all the same thoughts about Adam herself. Was he single? they asked. What did he look like without a shirt on? Did he like to be on top or bottom? Oh wait, that one was from another guy. Well, okay then.
Then she saw one question that made her sigh heavily. Are the two of you dating? That was one she could answer herself. Nope. Definitely not. She clearly wasn’t the type of woman Adam went for. Otherwise, he would’ve answered her when she asked him if he had a wife or girlfriend. Or at the very least told her that her hair smelled nice.
But he hadn’t. He probably just—
Ugh. There she went again.
Enough.
She needed to stop mind reading and obsessing over him. And the video too. Obviously, a bunch of strangers had gotten their jollies off an embarrassing, unfortunate event in her life. One that was now over. Probably by tomorrow, the comments would stop and everything in her life would go back to normal.
So she needed to do herself a favor and put down her phone, dunk herself into a steaming tub full of bubbles, climb into her comfortable bed to get a good night’s sleep, and forget all about the stupid video.
And the hottie who had come to her rescue.

Three days later, Preslee sat behind the large mahogany desk at her father’s antique shop, wondering how much it would hurt if she banged her forehead against the hard wood. She had thought the whole viral video thing would blow over the day after, but she had been sorely mistaken.
