Leah was still staring in Adam’s direction. “I see what you mean about the glow, Jess. He’s good-looking. I’d be glowing too if I was a single girl who spent all my extra time with him.” She winked at Preslee.

“See? Told you so,” Jessa said, giggling.

Valerie snorted out a laugh. “The blond isn’t bad either.”

Preslee couldn’t help but smile. “Have y’all met them? They’re both great guys.”

“Sort of,” Jessa replied. “They come into the restaurant sometimes. Always polite. Good tippers too. Max introduced me. He knows them from the gym, of course.”

“Same,” Sidney replied. “Brett introduced me too. He said Adam and Kurt had a huge hand in getting him to start working out with Max. They probably deserve a medal for that.”

Jessa nodded. “No kidding. I never thought our guys were going to get along. I’m glad to see that things have changed. We can actually have dinner together now without the two of them trying to kill each other.”

“True,” Sidney agreed. Then she turned to Preslee. “So how are things going with Adam? Brett says he’s a good trainer who likes to get hands-on with his clients.”

Although Preslee knew she hadn’t meant anything sexual, she couldn’t help but squirm a little. Probably because she wished Adam would get hands-on with her. Not because she couldn’t go without sex. She could. And had. But if anyone asked her how long it had been since she’d last had sex with something other than her vibrator, she would be too mortified to answer.

Sex was like oxygen. It wasn’t a big deal unless a person was deprived of it for too long. Then they either ended up in a vegetative state with irreversible brain damage or…well, dead.

She seriously needed to get laid before that happened to her.

A sigh fell from her lips.

“Preslee?”

Her head snapped up to see four pairs of eyes staring curiously at her, and she realized that she hadn’t answered Sidney’s question. Heat blasted through her cheeks. “Sorry. He’s…um, great. I highly recommend him.”

Valerie’s head perked up. “Hmm. Do I sense something there?”

“What do you mean?”

She grinned. “You know, something more. Like maybe there’s something between you and Adam.”

Preslee scoffed. “Ah, no.”

The corner of Sidney’s eyes crinkled slightly. “Why not? He’s hot.”

With a shake of her head, Preslee laughed. “I don’t think the bride-to-be is supposed to be checking out another guy the day before her wedding.”

“It’s perfectly okay if I’m looking for your benefit,” she argued playfully.

Valerie coughed out a laugh. “Dear Lord. I think you’ve forgotten who you’re marrying tomorrow. Brett would probably kill Adam if he knew you thought he was hot.”
