“Already on it. I talked to Jessa about it last week, and she was excited to learn that Preslee was a member. The only reason you haven’t seen her in here yet was because she had several catering events already scheduled for this past week. She’ll probably be in sometime over the next few days. I’ll put a rush on it.”

“Good. I’m glad to hear it. I’m happy to comp her membership too.”

Max shook his head. “No need. She was going to join anyway. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she brings in others. All the girls know Preslee and love her. So the moment I mention to Jessa that she may need some extra support, I don’t doubt they’ll all rally together.”

“That would be great. At least tell them to ask Kurt for a group discount. I’m happy to provide it. I’d do anything for Preslee.”

Max grinned. “I see that. Does she?”

Adam hesitated. “I…don’t know. Probably not.”

“Well then, maybe you should rectify that.”

“Rectify what?” Nate asked, returning with his tools in hand.

“Adam is having a problem with a woman,” Max stated simply.

Nate grinned. “You mean Preslee?”

Adam’s head snapped to him. “How the hell did you…”

His smile widened. “Dude, you sniffed her hair like a drug dog needing a cocaine fix.”

Dear God. Had everyone seen that damn video? He rubbed a hand over his face and sighed. “Just great.”

Nate chuckled. “Don’t worry too much about it, Adam. When it comes to women, we’ve all done stupid stuff before. Trust me when I say I’ve done worse.”

Adam wasn’t sure what he was talking about. “But you aren’t even dating anyone.” In fact, for a guy with such a bad reputation for being a ladies’ man, Adam had never actually seen Nate with a woman.

“Yeah, and why do you think that is? Maybe it’s because the woman I fell for left town years ago. She couldn’t get away from me fast enough and has never been back. That’s how badly I screwed up.”

“Yikes!” Adam said, wincing. “I would definitely take some ribbing over a hair-sniffing video rather than not seeing Preslee again.” Oh. Wait. Was that him admitting that he was falling for her?

Max and Nate both grinned.

Shit.

On Friday, Preslee strolled through the gym doors earlier than usual with an entire entourage of women. She led them to the front desk and had Kurt scan her in before gazing around the room in search of Adam.

She spotted him organizing equipment across the room so she turned to her group and said, “You girls go ahead and get signed in. I’ll be right back.” Then she moved in his direction.
