- About the Author
A special mention to my sister Rachel for being my human spellchecker and forcing me to watch TV from time to time. Each and every member of my family have given me grace when I have been at my worst, and this book is a testament to the patience you have shown me.
To my friends, Beth and Sammy, for standing by my side from cringe poetry and underdeveloped short stories to today. For standing by my side through my diagnosis and giving me room to vent when things got tough. I will be forever grateful for you. Our ten-year-old selves had no idea what was coming, but we have persisted with the support of each other. I am proud to call you both my friends.
To young me who doubted herself. You are stronger than you ever give yourself credit for. Dropping out of A level English will not ruin your life. Dropping out of university will not ruin your life. You needed to do what was best to keep you alive, and because of those tough decisions we get to stand here today proud of ourselves. A god damn author!
Finally, to the reader. Thank you for being here at my debut novel! I could never fully articulate how thankful I am for your support. Without readers there are no writers. So, this is for you.
