“To touch you,” he groans softly, his voice hot on my neck and making a shiver rush down my spine. “To take you,” my lower stomach quivers. “I’m trying to be patient,” he quietly insists with a desperate plea and my head spins as he kisses my cheek one more time. “But the things I want.” He backs away, his eyes are clouded with a darkness that I’m growing more accustomed to. More intrigued by. “The things I need, Darling.” He sucks in a sharp breath before continuing. “I want to be chivalrous and say I’ll wait forever. But I won’t. I can’t.”
Nervous, I blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. “We used to enjoy playing games, Peter. Being young. Having fun. Is that all you want from me now? To touch?”
“I want to play a new kind of game with you, Wendy,” his eyes sparkle with mischief.
My heart beats faster as he looks me deep in the eyes. Blinking once, I swallow and try my best to not act childlike. “You do?” He only nods, his intense stare never wavering off my own. “What kind of game?”
His fingertips brush up my arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. I tremble slightly as I take in a shaky breath. Worried he won’t answer, I open my mouth to speak but he places his finger against my lips telling me to be quiet. To be still.
“You like it when I tell you what I want?” he whispers quietly, reading me like an open book and my breath stills, “what I need?”
All I can manage is a simple nod yes. His smile spreads as he leans in and whispers against my lips.
