Chapters (36)
I watch them through the portal in anger. My breathing labored as I think of all they stole from me. Everything that was lost in a blink of an eye, when the only soul I’ve ever loved, cherished, adored was ripped away from me, never to return to Neverland again.
I loved Tinker Bell in ways the rest of the world could never understand.
We were supposed to rule together, our love for one another finally out in the open, finally brought to light.
But they forever ruined that chance when they tainted it with their growing darkness.
For that, I intend to make them suffer, more than they have ever suffered before, as I watch their pitiful reunion and plot a revenge, a final end to the magic most believe will never die.
“What about the magic?” one of my men says, “what do we do about what’s left of it?”
“There is no such thing as magic,” I scowl. “Not anymore. There’s finally nothing left to save Peter and his precious Wendy from the hell I intend to unleash on them.”
“There is no telling how long it will take before they reach the other side,” he insists.
I watch Wendy pull Peter close. He kisses her tenderly and my stomach revolts. My heart constricts in my chest, as I suck in a sharp breath and think of all that I’ve lost, all that I’ll never get back. It burns painfully as it sears itself into my soul.
“Then we’ll wait,” I hiss back. “Days, months, years if we need to. I will have retribution. They will pay for what they’ve done. Nothing can save them now. Not their pathetic happy thoughts. Not fucking pixie dust.” Turning, I stalk off towards my quarters. “Peter Pan is as good as dead. Without him, Wendy won’t be able to breathe.”
“Maybe we should find a way to take them now, as kids, when they are vulnerable?”
Shaking my head, a wicked smile tugs at my lips.
“Too easy,” I throw over my shoulder as I exit the room. “When I take them down, I want it to be a fair fight.”
“All is fair in love and war,” he shouts after me.
But he’s wrong.
This time we follow the rules.
The beginning of the end for the two that will suffer the most.
