I’ve matured since the last time he was here. Blossomed a little, almost overnight. I never resembled a little girl, but I was far from a woman, too. Now, my face is slimmer, my breasts larger, my hips wider and my heart is beating faster than it ever has before at the sight of Peter in my room after so long. Thoughts I swear I shouldn’t be thinking keep coming to the forefront of my mind, as if on some crazy forewarning. They’re an impulse that I know one day will get the better of me no matter how hard I try and fight it.
As his song finishes, I rise from the bed and Peter takes a bow. A giggle escapes my lips as he stands to his full height and starts to come closer.
“What about me, Wendy?” He smirks, coming a few steps closer. “Have I changed?”
I want to tell him, yes, he has. He seems the same and yet, surprisingly different. The look in his eyes. The feeling I get when he comes closer. The possession I feel as he reaches out now and takes my hand. It’s all new.
Flustered, I look to the floor and say, “No, Peter.” But the new emotions coursing through my veins gets the better of me, and I end on a whisper, “You’re just as perfect as always.”
“That’s right,” he boasts. “Flawless, Wendy.”
Looking up, I raise my brow and challenge him. He’s always been conceited. But that’s also one of his most fascinating qualities. A look of amusement spreads across his face as he pulls me in a small step closer, towards his chest.
“Everyone has flaws, Peter.”
“Not you, Wendy,” he smiles, so sure of himself, and then adds, “And not I.”
“How can you be so sure?” I tease.
“I just know,” he winks, his hand guiding me to spin as he slowly twirls me around in the middle of my room.
“Do you? I bet you know everything,” I laugh, his eyes catching mine as I turn past him. On the next turn, I notice his gaze traveling over my body. Desperate. Unabashed. My hand in his begins to shake, my voice trembles as I force myself to say, “Am I right, Peter?”
He just smiles, his eyes never finding mine as they continue their appraisal, then he backs away quickly, dropping my hand and making me fall back on my feet with a slight stumble. I try to shake the way he’s making me feel as he brings his pipes back to his lips and plays a short tune, acting as if everything that was just consuming us was merely a dream, not reality. Shaking my head, I force my thoughts away from mature things and focus on the way things have always been.
