- Don't miss out!
“You’re just in time for dinner,” G said as she hopped off the counter.
“I don’t want to interrupt the two of you. I’ll just take mine to the bedroom.”
“Like hell you will. You’re going to sit down with us.” She reached in the cupboard and took down an extra plate.
Donovan was kind enough to pour me a glass of wine. “You look like you had a rough day,” he spoke as he handed me the glass.
“To say the least. Oh, by the way, I have to go out of town on a business trip. I’m leaving Thursday and returning on Sunday.”
G’s eyes lit up like fireworks lit up the sky. “A business trip? Is Mr. Young going?”
“Yes. Unfortunately.”
“Where are you going?” Donovan asked.
“Vegas.”
“Well, at least you’re going with a human being this time. Make sure to have plenty of sex while you’re there,” G said as a smile splayed across her face.
“It’s for a business meeting and there will be no sex. Knock it off with that. Plus, you couldn’t pay me enough to have sex with Simon.”
“Who said anything about Simon? Hook up with some random hot stranger. Someone you’ll never see again. It’s magical, I’m telling you.” She winked.
Donovan glanced over at her and raised his eyebrow. “And you know this how, darling?”
“Because I’ve done it. What did you think? I was some goody-two-shoes virgin before I fucked you?”
I put my hands over my ears. “Stop.”
The three of us sat down and ate dinner. I couldn’t help thinking about Donovan’s wife and what excuse he gave her for not being home. Because Simon had already put me in a pissy mood, I decided to be bold and ask.
“So where’s your wife tonight, Donovan?”
“Gabby!” G exclaimed.
“She’s visiting her sister in Portland. She’ll be back on Sunday.”
I did have to give them some credit. At least they weren’t fucking at his house in the bed that he and his wife shared. Unlike some men I knew. I took my plate to the dishwasher and told Donovan and G good night.
“Donovan’s spending the night. We’ll try to keep it down.”
“Okay,” I replied with a fake smile.
After changing into my pajamas, I heard my phone ding. I walked over to the nightstand and when I picked it up, I was shocked to find a text message from Simon.
“Be in my office tomorrow morning at exactly eight o’clock.”
I sighed as I replied.
“Okay.”
“Okay? That’s all you’re going to say?”
I climbed under the covers and propped myself up against the headboard.
“Master?”
“Very funny, Gabrielle. Sleep tight and I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Okay.”
“??”
“Master?”
