- Don't miss out!
He turned around and flashed his sexy smile at me. “She’s not my wife. She’s a friend, and yes, she is beautiful, but not as beautiful as you.” He walked out the door and left me standing there speechless.
A few moments later, Peter walked in and shook my hand. “Congratulations, Gabrielle. Mr. Young seems to really like you,” he said with concern.
“Thank you. He seems nice.”
Peter laughed. “He’s the boss and what he says goes. I was going to hire you anyway. Go home and enjoy yourself today. I’ll see you here in my office tomorrow morning at eight o’clock.”
I nodded my head and walked out the door. As soon as I exited the building, I did a little dance on the sidewalk. I couldn’t believe how fast I got a job, and to be working for Young International was huge. I pulled out my phone and dialed G.
“How did it go?” she answered.
“I got it! I got the job!” I squealed.
“Good job, Gabby. I knew you would.”
“Thanks again for letting me use your car today. I guess I need to go look for one of my own.”
“Don’t worry about it yet. Donovan can drive me in the rest of the week. Don’t rush into buying anything today.”
“Are you sure? Because I feel bad.”
“Don’t be silly. I love having Donovan pick me up.”
“Okay. I’ll see you later when you get home.”
“Bye, Gabby.”
I walked to the parking garage where G’s car was parked, and as I pulled the handle to open the door, a black limousine pulled up and the passenger window rolled down.
“Is that your car?” Simon asked as he studied the 2011 Subaru.
“No. It’s my friend’s car. She let me borrow it today for the interview.”
“So you don’t have one?”
“Not yet. I’m going to look for one this week.” I smiled, even though I was irritated with his nosy questions.
“Give me your address.” He grinned.
“Excuse me?”
“Give me your address and I’ll have my driver, Patrick, pick you up in the morning.”
How many times did I have to ask myself if this guy was serious? “It’s fine, Simon. She’s letting me use her car until I get one.”
“Gabrielle, there’s one thing you will learn very quickly about me and it’s that I don’t take no for an answer. I never have and I never will,” he spoke with seriousness.
I put my hands up. “Fine.” I rattled off G’s address and, with a smile, he thanked me and told me to have a nice day.
