- Don't miss out!
“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Holms.”
“Nice to meet you as well,” Donovan replied as he lightly shook my hand.
I sipped on my whiskey sour and grabbed some bruschetta from the tray as the waiter walked by. While Giana was chatting it up with McCheater and his wife, and Jared went to the restroom, I walked over to the other side of the ballroom to check out the eight-foot-long dessert table that was set up.
“There you are. I was looking for you.”
As I turned around to speak to Jared, my eyes latched on to the piercing blue eyes that caught my attention three months ago.
“What the—” I whispered as I stared at him from across the room and his mesmerizing eyes stared back. The corners of his mouth slightly curved up into a captivating smile that sent shivers in all the right places.
My heart picked up the pace as he started to walk towards me across the crowded room. His eyes never left mine. That was until some man stopped him, whispered in his ear, and he turned around and walked out of the ballroom.
“Are you okay?” Jared asked.
“That guy,” I said as I stared at the doorway.
“What guy?”
“The one who just left the room. He sat across the aisle from me on a plane about three months ago. He helped me with my bag.”
“Who is he?” Jared asked.
“I don’t know. We didn’t exchange names.”
“I’m sure he’ll be back soon. When you see him, go talk to him.”
As Jared and I walked over to the bar, we watched Giana go into the lobby. A few moments later, I saw Donovan whisper in his wife’s ear. She nodded her head, smiled, and then he walked out. I was almost sure the two of them were going to have sex somewhere in this hotel. I heard my phone ding and there was a text message from G.
“Whenever you want to leave, you can go. I’m spending the night at the hotel tonight. See you in the morning. Have fun and do yourself a favor, meet a really hot guy. There’s plenty of them here.”
