I also post all sorts of fun things on my site at pipercj.com, including menus for the books, playlists, character art, how to get signed copies, and my newsletter sign-up! Instagram is the best place for daily updates and pictures of my dogs. TikTok is where you’ll find me sleepily using my folklore MA to keep you out of fairy rings.

With insanity,

Piper CJ

Acknowledgments

Thank you to Meg, who encouraged me to start writing again after a ten-year hiatus. Thank you to Nikki, Kelley, Grace, Allison, and Serg for reading my first drafts and making me feel like I’d created a world worth celebrating and exploring.

Thank you to Jada for helping me develop TNAIM and guiding Nox and Amaris into being the best versions of themselves, to Christa for making the novel sparkle, and to Bloom for taking a chance on me.

Thank you to C. S. Lewis, who would have undoubtedly been displeased with the queer, sexual nature of my fantasy romance but who nevertheless expanded my mind from youth and set me to rigorous thought and escapism, and to every artist, author, and creator who’s imbued our world with magic.

And finally, thank you to me! I’m proud of myself for writing the books I always wanted to see and to read while growing up, regardless of what it cost, as all magic comes at a price. I want to thank the LGBTQ+ community for welcoming me with open arms and celebrating queer representation in fantasy.

About the Author

Piper CJ, author of the Night and Its Moon bisexual fantasy series, is a photographer, hobby linguist, and french fry enthusiast. She has an MA in folklore and a BA in broadcasting, which she used in her former life as a morning-show weather girl and hockey podcaster and in audio documentary work. Now when she isn’t playing with her dogs, Arrow and Applesauce, she’s making TikToks, studying Vietnamese, or writing fantasy very, very quickly.
