  89. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

No one noticed our suspicious absence, but there’s no way we can sneak out early. We spend the next two hours conversing with my family members, sharing a couple of dances, and eating chocolate hazelnut cake. At the end of the night, after saying goodbye to my parents, we depart back to my side of the house, climbing the stairs silently.

“Hey,” I say softly when we enter my bedroom. “Are you okay? I can sleep in another room tonight. You don’t owe me anything just because we kissed two times.”

“It’s not that,” Emma says, closing the door behind us. “I’m… This is embarrassing. I’m nervous, I guess.”

“Nervous how?” I ask. My thumb strokes her cheek, ready to help find a solution to all her problems.

“This is a whole new territory for us.”

“It is. We can stop whenever we want, you know. It’s not a nonstop flight. We can get off the plane and enjoy a layover.”

“That’s the thing. I don’t want to stop. I want to keep going. I want you to keep going.”

“You sure?” I sweep my eyes over her face.

“Positive.”

“In that case…” I pick her up, gathering her in my arms. Walking four steps, I push her against the wall without using too much force. Emma lets out a squeak, legs instinctively wrapping around my waist. I stare at her for three never-ending seconds, letting her decide if she wants to run and hide or stay and play. She stares back, unflinching, and when she tilts her head to the side, a tempting smirk sitting on her face, I kiss her.

Game fucking on.

This time, the kiss is hungrier. Greedier. Sloppy and messy. Now that I’ve gotten to enjoy the tiniest fraction of her, I’m a starved man wanting to have the whole damn meal, gluttonously needing to taste every square inch of her. A moan falls from her mouth and my hand threads into her hair, tilting her neck backwards.

Fuck. I love seeing the blonde strands wrapped between my fingers like fine silk. My teeth travel over her pale skin, and she moans, louder than before.

I’m just getting started, Emma.

Her heels press into the small of my back, egging me on, driving us closer together. My dick is achingly hard again and pressing into her stomach, close to where I want to take her once and for all.

God, the first time is going to feel too fucking good.

She withdraws from my attack, blinking at me with stars in her eyes. She looks a little dizzy. A little disheveled. Very turned on. “I never knew kissing someone could feel so damn good.”

“Me neither. I guess we’ve been kissing the wrong people.”
