- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
“The first time my fingers are inside you, I want to be sure you’re thinking clearly. Because once I touch you, Emma, I’m not going to fucking stop.”
“I’m thinking clearly,” she pants, grinding against me. Her hips are rolling. Her head is tilted back, offering the sky a prayer. Her nipples are hard and peaked through the thin fabric riding up her body. The dress might be black, but I can practically see the rosy pink.
“You’re a terrible liar,” I murmur into her collarbone, kissing the top of her chest. “And you’re making it very difficult to behave.”
“You’re scrambling my brain.”
God, I want her. Really fucking bad. Right here, right now, under the stars. Fuck the consequences. But I’ll be damned if the first time I taste her is on a wobbly bench that might collapse under our weight. I want to enjoy her, not worry about putting her in harm’s way.
“Oh, Emma. I’m going to do much, much more than that.”
“So do it.”
I hear the desperation in her voice. She’s close to begging; if she asked me to slip my finger inside her and make her come, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
It pains me to say the next words, but I get them out, knowing it’s what I have to say, not what I want to say.
“I wish I could, but we should get back to the party.”
It’s obvious she wasn’t expecting the dismissal, and I didn’t intend for it to be so… direct. The high she’s chasing crashes and burns as her attitude changes. She nods curtly while her mouth droops and her eyes dim. Frowning, she adjusts the straps of her dress that have slipped down her arms, dangerously close to falling off completely. My jacket is in a heap on the grass. “Okay. Yeah. We’ve been gone for a while.”
Taking her chin in my hands, I bring her gaze to look at me. “Don’t think for a damn second I’m rejecting you. I’m trying my best to not ruin anything. To not move too fast. To not tell you all the filthy things going through my mind right now. All the creative ways we could use this bench. If I do, we’re never leaving. You’ll have twigs in your hair and dirt on your knees when I’m finished with you. They’ll have to send a search party after us, and even then I wouldn’t give you up willingly.”
“Maybe I want to hear those things,” she challenges.
