“He’s such a brute!” It pissed Darcy off when Evan walked in and stood guard for us. He was worried about our scantily-clad bodies and the unwanted attention we were getting. I thought it was adorable but all the baggage between them probably made his actions worse.

“Oh, I think it’s romantic,” Sabrina said, slurring her words at the end.

“It’s not every day you have a guy de…defend your honors.” Katherine was looking like she might pass out at any moment.

Aiden helped settle the situation, and we made our way out of the bar. Sabrina and Katherine were giggling at any little thing, and I wished my buzz hadn’t worn off so quickly.

Darcy and Evan argued outside in hushed whispers until she finally agreed to let him drop her off. She looked pissed, but I could feel the sexual tension in the air. I hope they did something crazy tonight. She waved bye, and I made the gesture to call me.

“Aiden, your arms are like the size of my head,” Katherine was leaning on his shoulder when I turned around.

“Thanks,” he looked amused and I swear I saw his head get bigger.

“Alright ladies, let’s get you home before you puke in the car.” I ushered both of them in, making sure we would not have an accident.

In the ten minutes it took to get to the B&B, the girls sang whatever came on the radio. I joined them a few times, looking over at Aiden, seeing he was happy just watching us. He laughed when one girl told him to sing to Beyoncé’s “Crazy in love” with us, only for him to actually join in and know the words. The girls got out of the car giving Aiden and I kisses on the cheek, drunkenly walking inside. God, I hope they didn’t wake up the entire place.

“They seem like a lot of fun.” Aiden opened my door and helped me get in.

“They are, I’ve missed them. I miss Madie too, but I know she couldn’t come because of her new baby,” I said, when he got into the car.

“I’m sure traveling with a newborn is a nightmare. Just holding Kelsey’s baby is enough to give me anxiety.” He grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers together.

I smiled at the small gesture, but it didn’t help keep the rush of emotions at bay. “Yeah, you’re right,” I said, looking out the window. Being jealous of Madie and Kelsey threatened to devour me. It was stupid, and I didn’t know why I kept having these feelings and thoughts.

“You ok there, baby?” He pulled my hand up to give it a kiss.

“Yea, just…” I didn’t want to say what I was thinking. I felt like an awful person.
