“They know she’s going to get married. They want her for themselves.” JD looked scared.
“We need some food in him. Here, drink this.” Callum gave him a glass of water.
“Boys, I’ve missed you.” That voice made me want to hurt something.
“Candy,” I growled, hoping she saw my irritation.
She slid her hands up Nathan’s and Cal’s arms. “Who is this?” She eyed JD like he was a meal.
“Jesus Christ, take a hint, Candy. Get. Fucking. Lost.” Nathan had reached his breaking point. He felt violated, and we all were seeing her for what she truly was.
“Natie….” She whined.
“Does that really work for you? You sound pathetic.” JD looked sober at the moment.
“Excuse me?” She looked furious.
“Fuck, I’m hungry. Can we get something to eat? I need to go eat before I bury myself in Katherine.” He walked away like she didn’t even matter, and I liked him even more. The guys walked out with JD.
I smirked at her. “Pretty sad he pegged you the first time he saw you. Can’t believe it took us so long to see it.” I followed them out where we got tacos at a little vendor off the main road who made money off intoxicated people. My phone buzzed in my pocket.
Can someone come get us? I drank too much and I don’t want to risk driving. Jane texted.
Where did you guys end up? I texted back, already getting ready to go get them while Nate and Cal helped the brothers.
Group Therapy
Great, it was just a block down the road, and I could walk.
“Hey, the girls need to be picked up. I’ll drop them off at the B&B.” I didn’t wait for a response before I turned around, walking to the bar.
“Fuck you!” Callum yelled, and I laughed as I made my way to Group Therapy. I didn’t know what to expect when I opened the door to the bar, but a sweaty Jane dancing in a dress that was barely covering her ass was not it. The girls were in a corner singing, while all the guys in the bar were staring. I was excited that they were looking, but I also wanted to tell everyone to look away. I walked to the girls when Darcy showed up with shots of what looked like tequila. They licked the back of their hand and downed the drink with a lime wedge afterwards.
An upbeat song came on, making the girls yell and start dancing again. I noticed Evan sitting by them, glaring at anyone who came too close, and I laughed. Evan needed to get over himself and just tell Darcy he still loved her. When I got too close, he glared at me for a second before he realized who I was.
“Damn, Evan, if looks could kill, the entire bar would be doomed.” I snickered.
