“Alright guys, dig in.” Jane looked a little nervous as she cut up her food, loading her spoon with a bite of everything before sliding it between her gorgeous, pouty lips. She rolled her eyes back as she moaned. She shook her shoulders in what looked to be a little dance and she went in for another bite. I smiled at her cuteness, noticing Callum and Aiden doing the same thing. We all dug into our food, and the groans and moans made Jane very excited.
“Good, bad, or too spicy moans?” she chuckled.
“It’s delicious.” I said with my mouth full.
“It’s so fucking good.” Aiden took another bite of his food and shook his head.
She looked expectantly at Callum. His mouth was full, and he mumbled something.
Jane chuckled. “Good, I was worried it would be too spicy, or maybe too different. Tex-Mex usually isn’t a good representation of Mexican food.”
“Thanks for making it. I know it’s not an easy dish,” I said, digging in.
She shrugged. “I’ve missed cooking for people. It’s been a while since I’ve done it and I was so used to making dinner almost every night with Henry.”
We ate the rest of the food in silence, and I knew she had to be thinking about Henry and the baby again. After we stuff our faces, we sent Jane to relax in the living room and get ready for a movie.
“I feel like I need to work out after that meal.” Aiden rubbed his stomach.
“That was fucking delicious. I could get used to having food like that all the time,” Callum said, rinsing dishes and putting them in the dishwasher.
“Says the guy who is a bottomless pit,” I snorted.
“She’s an excellent cook.” He shrugged.
“What the hell am I?’’ I asked.
Aiden laughed. “Tossed aside like a dirty rag.”
“Chopped liver. That’s what I am.” I shook my head. “After feeding you for years, this is what I get.”
“I’ll always choose Jane,” he chuckled. “But… I guess I’ll still eat your cooking too.”
“Gee, Thanks.” I threw my rag at him.
We continued our banter as we finished up in the kitchen. Taking the cheesecake, a strawberry sauce, and fresh Chantilly cream out of the fridge, I cut slices for everyone. Aiden helped me bring the toppings.
“Yes! I was looking forward to this,” Jane said, taking a plate from me and looking at the slice like it was heaven.
