“You’re right. She deserves the same respect I give you and Nathan. We work better together,” I said, more to myself. I was used to doing a lot by myself and for Kelsey. I realized maybe I was babying my little sister too much. She was only two years younger than me and I needed to stop making decisions for her. The car stopped, but I didn’t get out right away.
“What if...”
“Stop. Just tell her the truth.” Aiden interrupted me. “Tell her you’re sorry, and make sure she knows the reason you said what you did.”
“I yelled at her too.” I knew yelling at her was a dick thing.
“Well, we all do stupid shit when we get angry, but just apologize.” Aiden looked at me and smiled. “I enjoy seeing you sweat like this. Who knew a woman could bring all of us to our knees?”
“I’m ok with being on my knees as long as it is Jane, who I get to eat out on all fours,” I smirked as I opened the door. “Thanks Aiden.” I got out of the truck feeling like I might pass out at any moment. I looked at the door for a minute before I nodded and closed it.
I hobbled to her front door, knocking. I had a feeling she was going to be stubborn about letting me in. I was grateful when Aiden handed me the key we used to open the door when we came to work on the house. Knocking again, having to lean on the wall to keep myself up, my body was shutting down.
“Jane, come on, open up,” I yelled as I knocked again.
Fuck this. I took my phone out to message her.
If you don’t open this door, I’m going to use our key to get in. We need to talk.
I waited for a few minutes, looking at my phone. When she didn’t respond, I opened the door and quietly walked into the house.
“Jane,” I called out, making sure she heard me and didn’t freak out. I opened the door to her bedroom, and I saw her lying on the bed on her side, away from me. When she didn’t move, I knew she knew I was here. I slipped off my shoes crawling into bed with her. My body protested at all of my movements. I gritted my teeth and pushed through it. I looped an arm around her, wanting to spoon her. She wasn‘t making this easy on me staying stiff, not moving or helping me.
