Jane pulled away, quickly leveling me with a look that said I was going to get my ass handed to me. “Do you expect me to just sit here and watch you get your ass kicked?”

“If it were up to me, you would stay home during my fights,” I retorted.

“Oh yeah, like that helps. I would still see your bloody face and your broken body when you get home.” She raised her voice. “It’s not like I can be blissfully ignorant, Callum.”

“This doesn’t happen often. I did two fights before you even found out, so it’s possible.” My voice raised too.

“So, what, I just have to deal with it when I could solve this for you?” She got off the bed.

“Yes, I don’t want to take your money, and then what would it look like to your brothers?” I stayed still, as she was pacing.

“Oh bullshit, don’t bring them into this. What I do with my money is my fucking decision and how would they find out because I sure as hell would not tell them anything.” Her voice rose again. “I’m giving it to you or if it makes you feel better, loaning it to you.”

“I won’t take your money, Jane,” I said, getting angrier.

“It’s not a big deal Callum, I’m not using it and I would rather it go to help you and then you don’t have to fight anymore. You can stop getting your ass….”

“Stop!” I yelled. “I will not take your fucking money, Jane!”

I interrupted her, and she looked at me with enormous eyes. She didn’t look afraid but she did look shocked, quickly getting over it and walked out of the room. Shit. I moved too fast and a jolt of pain ran through my side. I cursed in pain, clutching my side, my vision going spotty. When I finally got my pain under control, I got myself out of bed, and went to go look for Jane. I looked in the guys’ rooms seeing Nathan completely passed out and when I went to Aiden’s; he was in the shower, no sign of Jane.

I checked the guest bedroom with no luck. When I didn’t find her in the house, I went back to Aiden’s room because she had to be in the shower with him. I knocked on his bathroom door and walked in.

“Jane?” I asked, looking around.

“She’s not here,” Aiden called out. “I thought she was with you.” He turned the shower off and I left, thinking she took off. I walked as fast as I could, opening the front door and sure enough, her fucking car wasn’t there.

“Son of a bitch,” I said, walking back to my room noticing Aiden following me.

“What happened?” he asked, with a towel wrapped around his waist.
