“When we first moved here, I was still angry with everything. I started doing some fighting, and who knew I would be good at it?” I pulled away from him, confused. “I ran with a dangerous crowd and Kelsey met with a guy I used to hang around with. He was in charge of the fights and one night, he bounced. He took thirty-one thousand, and no one has ever seen him again. A week later, Kelsey called me, saying to meet her at this shady area of Monroe full of abandoned warehouses.”

He kissed me again, full of emotion. It was raw, gritty and full of regret, or at least that was what it had felt like. He pulled away, looking at me a little broken. “Since Kelsey had been seeing this guy, Lucio thought she knew where he was and expected her to fork over thirty-one thousand dollars. When he realized she didn’t have the money and he knew she was my sister, he brought me in to pay up and that is how I got tangled up with Lucio.”

“Fuck, Callum.” I pulled him close for a hug.

“He had Kelsey for four days and because I was so wrapped up in my shit, I chalked it up to her being with this guy. Lucio will use any means necessary to get his money and I won’t let him use you. So please, when I say leave, please listen. I don’t want to see what happened to my sister happen to you because I’m afraid I would do something really stupid.”

“I promise, I’ll listen.” I brought him in for another kiss. It was full of emotion, and I felt like he was trying to tell me something. He picked me up, shoving me against the wall and he showed me how much he cared for me, and how much he feared he would lose me. Shower sex had never been a thing, but with Callum, I think I could do it repeatedly. Once we reached our peaks, we stayed under the spray, kissing until a knock on the door pulled us away from each other. I washed his body, staying silent as he looked at me. While he rinsed, I quickly finished and got out.

After we got ready, he packed a bag and we went out to the living room to meet Nathan and Aiden. Both were dressed in jeans and a T-shirt. Callum advised me to wear something comfortable with athletic shoes in case Nathan and I had to make a quick escape.
