Maybe it was because he’d spent so much time jonesing for her. Or maybe there was just something special about her. Probably both. All he knew was that he’d barely brushed his lips over hers and something unexpected had ignited inside of him, engulfing him in flames. Not like a small fire that had grown out of control in a matter of seconds. More like the equivalent of someone accidentally launching an entire space shuttle into orbit all because they’d carelessly thrown a lit cigarette on the ground beneath the platform.

Unable to stop himself, he parted her lips with his tongue and deepened the kiss. Sweeping inside, he tasted the tangy margarita she’d been drinking, along with something else. Something sweet and undeniably Preslee. He explored the curve of her full, pouty lips and then traced her perfect mouth with his tongue before stopping to suck on the tip of hers.

She responded with an unintelligible moan, and he froze. Was she playing along? Because if so, she was clearly a darn good actress. Emmy-worthy, if you asked him. Because the sound that had just hummed from the depths of her throat sounded real. Like she had really been turned on.

Although Adam had frozen in place, Preslee hadn’t. She continued to kiss him, her body molding to his like it had been made to fit there. But he was surprised when her breasts flattened against his chest and two tightly pebbled buds poked through her shirt. He’d worried that she hadn’t been attracted to him at all. But apparently, she wasn’t as unaffected by him as he’d thought. Good to know.

His lips moved once more, manipulating hers, as his hands traveled down her curvy waist and landed on the swell of her hips. He bit back a groan. This woman would be the death of him. Just thinking about getting her clothes off was enough to keep him hard as a rock for a solid week.

It took every bit of strength he had to pry his mouth from hers. But he finally managed to pull away, nipping her bottom lip one last time and scraping it lightly with his teeth as he did.

That was the kind of kiss he wanted from her. Not some generic version.

Maybe this was a mistake of epic proportions. He should probably move on and let her and Josh work things out on their own. But Adam couldn’t do it. Because the only male attention he wanted focused on that curvy body of hers was his.

Preslee blinked in complete confusion. Had that really just happened?

She licked her lips and released a contented sigh. She could still taste Adam there. He had kissed her. Like really kissed her.

Out of the blue.

In the most phenomenal way imaginable.
