He grabbed my chin and made me look at him, his eyes scanning my expression to make sure I was okay. When he saw my flushed embarrassment a slow smile slid across his face.
“Get on, now,” he said, gently giving a little push for me to get up. I did this time and he stood up after me, stretching. Then he leaned over and whispered in my ear.
“You won’t be running off now, will ya? You’ve sealed the deal,” he said with a bit of humor in his voice. “I’d hate to have to chase you down again but I most certainly would.”
“I guess I won’t be,” I said.
“Good for you, lass,” he said, squeezing my shoulder and then walking off towards the bedrooms. “I think I need to check up on the others. You have a way of riling them up.”
He walked away, leaving me with the knowledge that he was still the most dangerous one because he swayed my emotions. But also that the Tower of Sin was already mine and therefore I was finally king of this island–firmly ensconced in my castle.
I walked to the wall of glass, smiling widely, my eyes flaring green in the reflection as I looked down on my city from my throne room.
“I think I might actually feel bad,” I said, slipping my hand into my cleavage and pulling out Dullahan’s phone. I’d used the kiss as a distraction to fetch it from his pocket. Lucky or not, I still had a few old school skills of my own.
Dullahan kept making it seem like this deal of ours would be long-lived. Well, I wanted them gone as soon as possible. I didn’t need all this, whatever it was. I did better on my own. Plus, I didn’t make deals. I didn’t trade favors. I got what I wanted and moved the fuck on.

The scent of them fucking had been too much. It had hooks that had worked their way into the fissures of my control and peeled back my humanity.
“You aren’t human,” the demon growled in my head.
I’d been in bed when Puca and Lacey had started fucking—the slow crawl of lust blossoming, their scents intertwining, their releases growing in tandem. Had Puca done that to me on purpose—twisting their orgasms and pleasure into one so that the potency would drive me mad?
The moment they had come together, I was out of my room and down the hall. I’d wanted to feast until I got my fill. The hitman had been there though. I remembered looking at him squirming on the ground like a worm. He hadn’t been what I’d come for. He hadn’t been what I needed. Lacey and Puca had been.
I tried breathing slowly as I went to the bathroom and paced. My demon watched me from the mirror, his dark eyes following my path, back and forth like a grandfather clock. Time was crawling and my hunger showed no sign of abating. Instead, I remained infuriatingly ravenous. It was gnawing at me and making me think of nothing but feeding. My fingers shook and I panted. I was going to lose it.
