  39. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

“I could take your luck,” he threatened with blazing eyes and then bit the swell of my breast as if he meant to take a chunk out and eat it. Then he slithered off the bed, going to his knees on the floor. He grabbed one of my legs dangling off the edge, bending it up and stretching me open. Golden glowing eyes bore into me as Viktor brought his face to my inner thigh and bit down sharply, grinding his teeth in as if he really hoped to consume me. His shadow grew behind him, horns twisting atop the shadow’s head.

I inhaled sharply and felt wetness at the corners of my eyes caused by the pain. Yet my legs spread wider, the anticipation of a rough fuck from my captor making me feel impulsively eager. Viktor crawled back on top of me, his monstrous shadow missing once again. He leaned forward, pressing his lips against my ear, he bit the lobe and groaned. I gripped his suit over his biceps, squeezing his arms. I didn’t know if I was supposed to be scared or turned on.

“Don’t tempt me to eat you. You have no idea how much I want to,” he said darkly and I shivered, hoping he would.

“What are you?” I whispered, running my hands down his hard chest. He smiled down at me.

“The better question is who am I,” he countered. My hands slid further down, touching his belt and then dipping lower. I gripped his thick cock in my hand and squeezed. His eyes bugged and he leapt up. Then he was gone, leaving me on the bed as he ran from the room like it was on fire.

I looked at the ceiling with a frown as I rubbed at the places he’d bitten me. Red indents of his teeth were left on my pale skin.

“Fucking perverted asshole,” I grumbled. “All three of them.” These were just three criminal jackasses trying to save their asses. Which, bricks in glass houses and all that but still.

I guessed Dullahan was probably the one who had the bright idea of using a leprechaun for luck. He was one of the few even aware of my people.

Well, fuck this. I was getting out. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Part of me wanted to agree to help them just to get this stupid thing over with so I could move on. Then again, I didn’t bargain with people. I simply stole what I wanted or played the odds in a game of chance.

The pictures of Lacey taunted me. I was always in this room–this shrine–always letting these pictures ruin me. I’d tried to walk past the door but before I even realized it, I was already inside, ass smoothly planted in the chair, and staring.

I’d lost sleep just to stand here looking at her pictures. It was a compulsive habit…an addiction. I both yearned and feared getting closer to her. Lacey had the power to unravel me and she didn’t even know it. She had no clue that every night she made me lose the will to fight myself. That every night I found myself in her dreams, pinning her down so that I could please her like I desperately craved to.
