Dullahan smelled of grass fields, bergamot, and leather. I sucked it in, trying to use it to calm me. For a brief moment, I felt a large hand on my back, as if comforting me, but it was gone the next moment and I was left questioning if it really happened.
A moment later we’d pulled into an underground garage. We slowed and I pulled my head up to see we were back at the Tower of Sin.
Before the bike even stopped, I leapt up and tried to take off running.
“None of that lass,” he said, grabbing me around the middle and throwing me over his shoulder like a caveman.
“How dare you!” I cried in fury, throwing fisted hits on his back and kicking like a wild person as he made his way to the garage elevator. He ignored me as I hit and smacked him and even took to talking shit about his mother. He stood there bopping his head to the damn elevator music until I screamed in frustration.
Finally, we made it back to the penthouse. He carried me past the living room. I was quiet now. Fighting him didn't get me anywhere but he couldn’t be around forever. My luck would get me out of this eventually.
We went to a bedroom where he threw me onto a bed. I bounced up and down a couple times before I shuffled backwards, up to the headboard. I looked at the giant at the end of the bed.
“Are you going to fuck me?” I asked. My tongue swiped over my lip. Damn, I was messed up. His head tipped back and he laughed loudly.
“I want your luck, not your body,” he said with a chuckle like the thought was absolutely hilarious. My lip curled. “You did good out there with the hitman.”
“Who was he? What’s this all about?” I asked.
“It’s about the Council. We’re on its hitlist.”
“You and the incubus?”
“Yeah, me and the incubus,” he said with a smirk. He was amused with me.
“So what? You want my luck to help avoid a bullet to the head?”
“Pretty much,” he grumbled, moving back towards the door.
“For how long?” I asked quickly.
“For as long as it takes,” he said over his shoulder.
“What if that’s forever?” I asked. Dullahan turned and smiled. “How long!” I yelled at him.
“Get used to being my lucky charm,” he said before leaving the room, making sure to close the door behind him. I leapt from the bed and tugged at the door but it was locked. I screamed out and kicked the door, frustrated my luck wasn’t working. Of course, I stubbed my toe and howled in pain, having never experienced it before.
“Fuck you, Dullahan!” I screamed out.

I was about to pull my hair out because I couldn’t for the life of me understand why I was still here. I stood in front of the locked door as if staring at it long enough would make it open up. It wouldn’t though, would it? Not when Dullahan was my captor.
