The werewolf passed the pile of clothes on the floor from when Tu Shen had shifted and looked back at the rabbit god, his eyes taking in his half-naked state.
“No,” Tu Shen rasped in shock. “This isn’t happening,” Tu Shen snapped, moving back a step.
“Yes, it is,” Roman growled, pulling his shirt from over his head. Tu Shen lifted his gun, holding it up to Roman’s heart as the man leaned into him.
“I fucking hate you,” Shen whispered, pushing his gun harder into Roman’s chest. His pink eyes were vicious and mean as he let the werewolf grab his waist and drag him closer.
“I hate you too,” Roman said before he kissed him. “So fucking much,” he rasped before kissing him again. The gun stayed pressed to Roman’s heart, even as both of them groaned and kissed.
“We can’t,” Shen murmured, trying to turn his face away. Roman wouldn’t let him, grabbing his face and jerking it back.
“It won’t change anything.”
“It’ll change everything,” Shen said. “Your father’s going to kill me,” he grumbled before kissing Roman again.
I went ahead and left because I’d seen Romeo and Juliet already, and was pretty sure this was going to end just as badly. I shifted back into a bird and tried to fly toward the Tower against the wind. It was slow going but I had to get back there. I had to. It burned in my veins, the need to have my mates.
I noticed people out in the streets despite the storm, running around, trying to find others the same as I was. We were all looking for our mates, the entire island in a heat induced by Lorcan.

I woke up to Lorcan fucking me. He groaned and thrust while his hands smoothed my hair out of my face so he could kiss beneath my eyes.
“Lacey,” Lorcan whispered in my ear. He slowly moved between my thighs. I hummed, stretching my arms around his neck and holding him close. I spread my legs wider for him, my hips thrusting up towards his body to join in on the dance. There were water droplets on his skin and his hair was wet as if he’d just showered. His wings curtained around us, dark and warm.
“There’s something I want you to do for me,” he whispered. I felt like I was melting beneath my incubus. And he was mine, there was no doubt about it. We'd claimed each other before we ever truly met. We'd spent weeks together and I could remember it all now—the way he needed me, the way he'd fallen in love, the way he sought me out every night even when he was still an ocean away.
My Greed needed him the same way his hunger needed me and through the relentless nights of pleasure I'd grown to crave his whispers and delight in the never-ending touches. I loved the way he had to ask over and over if I loved him too. If I was addicted like he was addicted to me. If I needed him as badly as he needed me. The answers were all yes. Yes, yes, yes.
