  39. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

“I did, but someone mentioned it was already mine.”

“I’m coming with you,” Puca stated, sliding his arm around my back.

“You want to eat me,” I countered.

“It’s a compliment,” he purred as we walked down the hall.

“I do like men who are trying to kill me,” I sighed.

“Perfect. It’s a date then,” he said with a chipper voice. A large hand grabbed onto Puca’s neck and pulled him off me. Dullahan bent down and glared into his eyes.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” Dullahan said.

“Oh come on,” Puca said in exasperation. “We had that nice chat upstairs, didn’t we?” A sly smile slid over his face.

“You are full of shite,” Dullahan said. “You stay here. I’ll go with her. I’m the only one that can really catch her anyway. Assuming she tries to run.” I rolled my eyes.

“I told you I wouldn’t.”

“Never trust the sidhe,” Dullahan grumbled.

“You’re putting me in time out?” Puca said through clenched teeth.

“I am. Now go to your room,” Dullahan said with a mean smile. Puca growled and looked like he was about to throttle Dullahan.

“Actually, that’s not your room anymore. It’s mine. Make sure you’re out of it by the time I get back.” I said. Lorcan chuckled. “You too,” I added.

“What? Why do you need both rooms?”

“You three can stay in that terrible third bedroom or on the couch or in a closet, or you can stay somewhere else entirely. Those are your choices. Come on then,” I said to Dullahan as I marched towards the front doors. Dullahan hesitated a moment, staring at the other two men.

“Be good,” he growled at both of them.

“I’m always good,” Puca said.

“Neutral at best, evil at worst. No more biting,” he snapped.

“No one wants to have any fun anymore,” Puca sighed as Dullahan took a few long strides to catch up to me.

“Where’s my phone?” He asked, grabbing at his pockets as we left the place.

“Oh, here,” I said, pulling it from between my breasts and handing it back to him. “Had to borrow it since someone smashed mine,” I said sharply.

“Did you pickpocket me?” He asked in shock. I shrugged and he groaned.

Lacey Flanagan was driving like a fucking maniac. My fingers were holding on to the door and seat, attempting to find enough grip to keep myself from sliding around the chair of the very expensive, very stolen car. I’d been apprehensive about getting in the car considering it wasn’t hers. She told me there was nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.

The light ahead was red and we were speeding towards it. Her foot pressed a little harder on the gas and a manic smile carved itself on her face. My heart beat a million miles a minute and I felt suspended in time, watching us barreling towards the intersection. Her finger flipped on the turn indicator as if she was a good driver. She definitely wasn't and was probably going to kill herself before we even got to her place.
