Viktor was staring at me as he walked himself directly into one of the large columns.
“Fock,” he hissed and my face pinched in confusion. Was that an Irish accent? He cleared his throat while I raised an eyebrow.
“Forgot that was there,” he said with a chuckle, zero accent. I must have imagined it. My eyes trailed over his expensive suit as he brushed it off and tried to pretend he hadn’t just done that. I could like this man a lot. We already felt connected in some way. Too bad I planned to take his kingdom. I rubbed at my forearms, noticing a fading green color.
Viktor looked at me for a moment, his tongue darted out over those taunting lips. His arm slid around me and his fingers pressed on the small of my back. I shuddered in pleasure as I remembered the club. God, he was dangerous and if that didn’t hit me right where it counted I didn’t know what would.
“You came here despite what I did last night,” he murmured as he led me across the casino’s main floor. The flashing lights and chaotic sounds made me smile as we made our way to the bar.
“You’ve been stalking me. It’s disturbing,” I said, trying not to feel turned on. He hummed, a sly little smirk curling his lips.
“You seem very disturbed,” he purred.
“I am a bit. You’re lucky you own this club,” I sighed, brushing my hair from my face and rubbing my gold earring. He walked me up to a bar, his hand moved from the small of my back to my wrist. He encapsulated it like a shackle as if he were keeping me hostage.
“I have to go work,” he said dryly.
“You’re leaving me all alone?” I teased. He gave me a smile as the bartender quickly came over.
“Teeling single grain,” he said, smiling at me. I raised an eyebrow. That was nice Irish Whiskey. Not as nice as my private supply but nothing could compare to that. A glass was set on the counter. Viktor finally released my wrist as I reached out to wrap my hand around it.
“I’ll be seeing you soon,” he said, his words dripping with a dark eagerness that was a little too strong. And that was Viktor–an intriguing and dangerous man that likely wished to ensnare me. I was not one to be ensared though and he’d learn that. He walked off, his pants tight on his ass. Viktor was trouble. I liked trouble.
The whiskey was good. Was it something he enjoyed or had he guessed one of my favorite drinks?
I dragged my tongue over my teeth. The alcohol wasn’t helping iron out the tension that suddenly washed over me. My instincts were telling me to leave. How could I leave though? This was my in. This was my shot at Plutus and I’d brave whatever trouble was brewing to get it.
