- Don't miss out!
When I walked through the door of my apartment, G wasn’t home. I found it odd since Donovan’s wife was coming home today and I thought she’d be here. It was getting late, so I changed into my pajamas and sat down on the couch to watch a movie. The front door opened.
“You’re back!” G exclaimed as she sat down next to me. “I want all the juicy sexy details.”
“Where were you? I thought you would have been home since Donovan’s wife was coming back today.”
“I was out to dinner with Jared. Donovan had to go pick up his bitch wife at the airport. I miss him already, Gabby.” She pouted.
I sighed as I put my arm around her. “You’re really into him, aren’t you?”
She laid her head on my shoulder. “I am in love with him and he’s in love with me.”
“Then why hasn’t he left his wife yet?”
“He’s going to. He’s finalizing some paperwork work regarding his properties tomorrow. I can’t even believe the feeling I get when I’m with him.”
“I know, right?” I slipped.
She lifted her head and looked at me. “What’s going on with you and Simon? Just amazing sex, right?”
“Sure. No. I mean, yes, but it’s hard. You know? He makes me feel special, like I’m the only woman in the world.”
“But you’re not. He’s a womanizer. I’m sorry to say this, Gabs, but you’re his flavor of the month, so to speak. A man like Simon can’t commit. You need to convince yourself of that. He’s rebuilding everything about you that Dickwad took away. He’s giving you confidence and you’re going to need that to move on to the next guy that looks your way.”
“Flavor the month, eh?” I smiled. “I’m going to bed.” I kissed her head. “A full day of sex really wears a girl out.”
“You’re awesome and don’t forget that!” she yelled across the apartment as I walked to my room and shut the door.
I heard my phone beep, and when I opened my eyes and looked at the clock, it was three thirty a.m. I grabbed my phone and there was a text message from Simon.
“My grandfather passed away. I won’t be in the office all week. I just wanted you to know.”
My heart broke; he needed me. My first instinct was to get dressed and drive over to his house.
“I’m so sorry, Simon. I can come over right now.”
“No. Don’t. Stay where you’re at. I want to be alone.”
I was surprised by his response.
“Then I’ll see you at the funeral. When is it?”
