- Don't miss out!
“You know there’s an intercom button on the desk phone.”
“Oh,” I replied as I looked at the black multi-line phone sitting on the desk.
She laughed. “Did you need something?”
“Do you have a car?”
“Yes. Why?”
“Then come on. You’re driving and we’re going shopping.”
A big smile spread across her face. “Are you serious?”
“Yes. I need help sprucing up this office.”
I grabbed my purse and walked down to Peter’s office. “Hey. I’m going to take Katie and we’re going shopping for some things for my office. I’ll be back in a bit.”
“Uh. Okay. But you know we have catalogs for that stuff and it’ll be delivered,” he replied.
“That’s okay. I’d rather pick things out in person.”
Katie and I climbed into her yellow VW Bug and drove to a store that was all about feng shui. It was something I was reading up on over the last couple of months. Thinking that maybe if I applied it to my home and love life, Brendon and I would be better together. Since I never got around to using it in New York, I figured, what better time to start. The fact that I was putting my past behind me and starting a new life made this the perfect time to put it in action. I spoke with the expert at the store and described my office. He made many wonderful suggestions about mirrors, artwork, and live plants. After spending a good hour with him, I made my purchases and he would send it out for delivery tomorrow morning. Two of his people would come and set up my office in the energizing and productive feng shui way. I even picked up a couple of things for Katie’s desk and area.
As we were driving back to the office, I decided to interrogate Katie about Simon.
“What are your thoughts on Mr. Young?” I casually asked.
“I have dirty thoughts. Very, very dirty thoughts about what I’d like to do to that man in the bedroom,” she spoke with seriousness.
“Okay. Tell me how you really feel.” I laughed.
She sighed. “He’s a womanizer. He has all the power and can have any woman he wants. All he has to do is snap his fingers and women are at his beck and call. I’ve heard he has women around the world.”
“Sounds like a total douchebag to me.”
“I think he has a thing for you.” Katie looked over at me. “I saw the way he looked at you today when he came to pick you up for lunch. He gave you that sexy glare of his. The glare that I would die to have on me.”
“Down, girl!” I smiled.
“Want to know something else I heard about him?”
“What?”
