“Yeah, it would be a shame to have to go to the emergency room to have them do something about it so I don’t hurt myself. You don’t know how dangerous this can be. Something like this can get slammed in doors, caught on furniture, and even strangled with clothing.”
She licked her lips. “Well, then you should probably do something about it. Maybe I can help you with that.” She gave him a good, hard squeeze.
Lord have mercy.
Adam groaned under his breath. “I was hoping you’d say that.” He leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to her neck. “Now where were we?”
“I think we were right about here,” she said, yanking her top over her head and tossing it on his bedroom floor. A pink hue swept into her cheeks.
His heated gaze dropped to the swell of her nicely rounded breasts spilling over the cups of her black bra, and he ran one finger gently across one as his other hand moved to her waist, pulling her closer.
He knew what it had cost her to pull her shirt off in front of him. Even through the tight smile on her face, he could still see the fear in her eyes that she might possibly be rejected for the way she looked. Which was silly since there wasn’t a damn thing wrong with the way the woman looked. She was beautiful, and he couldn’t get enough of her gorgeous body.
To punctuate that, he told her, “You’re fucking perfect the way you are. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.”
She smiled and pulled his face down to hers to kiss him. Her lips brushed over his timidly, but he pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. He didn’t want her timid. He wanted her filled with confidence. No more with the narrow, specific idea of beauty she had. He wanted to show her how beautiful and desirable she really was. He wanted to celebrate her body and show her that it was something to be proud of…even if it wasn’t perfect in her eyes.
It didn’t matter. She was perfect…for him.
He reached behind her and, with a flick of his fingers, undid the clasp on her bra. The straps loosened marginally but the bra stayed mostly in place. His fingers slid slowly under the straps by her collarbone, and her body tensed.
He paused. “Is this okay?” he asked, wanting her to grant him permission to move forward. Just because she’d granted it once didn’t mean a woman couldn’t change her mind after the fact. He wasn’t a guy who would take advantage of a situation. He needed to know she stood by her decision. Otherwise, it wasn’t going to happen, and he’d return to his respective corner.
She bit her lip and gave him a barely perceptible nod.
