Clearly pissed, his mouth formed a tight thin line. “Damn it. Those are the same two assholes who I banned from the gym.”

She blinked. “What? How do you know that?”

“Their usernames are similar to their email addresses we have on file. I know because I added them to our banned list myself.”

“B-but how did they know about my vlog? How would they even find it?”

He shook his head. “I don’t know. They saw you making a video. Maybe they overheard you talking. Or maybe they just heard about it in town. Lots of people have been commenting on it.”

“But why go to the trouble of going on my vlog and writing hateful comments? What purpose did it serve?”

He cringed. “I guess that’s my fault. I told them that night that I was banning them for harassing you. So apparently they are blaming you for them getting kicked out. They are taking their anger out on the wrong person. I’m sorry.”

“You shouldn’t have to apologize for those jerks.”

“No, but they aren’t going to do it so someone should. But I promise you that I will make sure they leave you alone from now on. I have their addresses still on file. I’ll pay them a visit tomorrow and have a word with them about what they’re doing.”

She waved her hand through the air dismissively. “Don’t bother. I’ve already blocked both of those idiots and deleted their comments. I doubt they are going to go through the trouble of making new accounts just to spew more vitriol my way.”

“They might.”

She shrugged. “Then I’ll block those accounts too. It takes a lot longer for them to make new accounts than it will take for me to block and delete. I’m not worried about them or anything they have to say. I made the mistake of letting them bother me once. Trust me, it won’t happen again.”

“Good. But if they keep harassing you…”

“They won’t. When a bully doesn’t get a response out of the person they are bullying, the fun is taken out of it. And I didn’t respond. They will move on, if they haven’t already.”

“Okay, but if they don’t leave you alone, I expect you to let me know. You don’t deserve their abuse. And I can take care of it, if you want.”

“It’s okay. I appreciate it, but it’s not necessary.”

He nodded. “I’m only trying to help. I like you, Preslee.”

She smiled. “I like you too.”

An awkward silence stretched between them.

She didn’t want him to continue talking about this anymore, so she glanced up at the clock on the wall and yawned. “It’s getting late. I should probably get some more rest.”
