Hannah would really like to be without a hand or mouth on her again. Without a nearly cross-eyed gaze in front of her face. She realizes it won’t take much longer before she tries to smack Peter in anger. And it makes her unhappy, these moods and the rare or at least few moments when she is excited, a sense of connection at hand; and when the excitement fades, she is sitting with this boy and fails to see his beauty anymore and doesn’t know what to talk about with him.

And

PETER

Is nearly in a panic over the loss he suspects is coming. He loses everyone. Everyone leaves. And he would like to be able to convince people to stay, if only he could communicate properly. But he can’t. He can only stare nearly cross-eyed with infatuation and touch Hannah. And with every touch, he notices, she’s had enough of him. How can he go on without Hannah, like one of these people sitting with him in this café? Normal people without character. Outside a black plastic bag is zipped closed.

A man in a laughable Sherlock Holmes–like outfit takes photos.

THE JOURNALIST

CONSUMER BEHAVIOR: white bread, nut butter

HOBBIES: stalking

INTELLIGENCE: workable, he’s just a journalist
