“Oh, okay, cool, and do you have a bridge you’d like to sell me while you’re at it?”

“You know what?” he says, running his hands through his hair. “I don’t need this right now. Not from you.”

“Fine,” I say, crossing my arms across my chest. “Then leave me alone.”

“Fine,” he says, turning around and starting back toward the house.

“Don’t ever talk to me again!” I scream at his back. But he doesn’t turn around.

I stand there for a few seconds, watching him disappear into the house. When he’s gone, I sit on the sidewalk, pulling my knees up to my chest. I cry. And cry. And cry. I’m so sick of this. I’m sick of Frank, who’s filming me right now. I’m sick of having to worry about what I say or what I do. I’m sick of being here. I’m sick of feeling the way I do about Corey and about Drew. I’m sick of people lying to me. I just want to go home.

I cry so hard, I feel like my body is going to break. I feel like I’m literally going to cry myself to death. That’s how bad it hurts, physically and emotionally. I don’t know when everything got so hard, but I’ve had enough. I stand up, wipe my eyes on the sleeve of my jacket, and march toward the house. I head up the stairs and right into my room, careful not to look in the direction of the boys’ room.

I close the door behind me and throw myself onto my bed. Who the hell does he think he is? I mean, letting that girl in our house? That’s so ridiculously fucked up. I can’t even fathom how ridiculously fucked up that is. It’s beyond fucked up. There are some things you just don’t do. And messing around with someone who’s done something so completely heinous to one of your friends is one of them.

I start crying again, the sobs making my body ache. What was I thinking, even comparing Corey and Drew? Corey would never, ever do something like that to me. He loves me. I’m so stupid. I pick up the phone next to my bed and dial quickly.

“Corey?” I say when he answers. “I need you to come here. Not Saturday. Now.”

NOW

Yeah, so even I can admit that was pretty dramatic. I mean, “never talk to me again?” What was that about? I looked totally stupid, getting all upset and threatening when I had a boyfriend. It was like a scene from a bad TV movie. And watching it on the replays? Oh my God, forget about it. I saw it once and almost threw up.
