"Why are you calling me? Was there an issue with Jane? Is she okay?" I hear my dad on the other line ask in a worried tone.

"She's fine. She is standing in front of me. I had to call you to let her know that I'm now harm." Rowan said to my dad while still staring at me.

"Can she hear me?"

"Yea. You're on speaker."

"My love, Rowan is taking you to the estate. Let him. I'll talk to you when you come home."

I want to text him and start an argument but there is no point.

I roll my eyes and walk past Rowan.

"Okay I'll bring her there now." I hear Rowan said before my dad says something and then Rowan hangs up. Rowan opens my door before I has the chance to put my hand on the handle. I look up at him and my eyes meet his. Something about his eyes look so familiar but when Rowan stares down at me his eyes are staring at me as if I'm just a normal person. "You going to get in or not?"

Moment over.

I huff and get inside the car. Rowan slams my door and walks to the other side of the car so that he could drive.

Why did my dad have you pick me up?

That's what I want to say but I don't.

While driving one of his hands is on the wheel and the other is on the gear stick.

"I'm sure your dad will explain everything when you get home. But as I said before I'm not going to hurt you or anything and you don't have to trust me, but you have to give my some slack if we're going to be with one another from now on."

I look at Rowan and he takes a quick glance at me.

Be with one another?

"Your dad hired me to watch over you."
