"Now I know this is really hard for you to hear. So, if you want, I can always come back later to discuss what happens next."

I look away from my mom and look at the doctor. I shake my head 'no' wanting her to continue.

Tell me. Give me the harsh reality, please.

"Well good news is that you have no infections or HIVs. And the other news is that I am not sure if you will be pregnant or not and I don't know if they used a condom." The doctor looks at my parents. "But if you notice anything strange or any symptoms then give me a call immediately." I already know my parents are nodding their heads. The doctor looks back down at me. "Jane, I know this is a hard thing for someone to hear. And I want you to know that so many people are here for you. If you ever need anything then just give me a call. I will give you a helpline number in case."

I don't nod my head or say anything to her. She asks to speak to my parents outside of the room. My mom kisses my forehead before leaving with my dad and the doctor.

Thalia sits down next to me on the bed while Aria and my Grandma go out of the room with the doctor.

Thalia is still wearing her black dress and there is blood on it.

I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.

Are you okay? Where is Alexander? What happened?

"You're okay Jane. Everything is okay." Thalia said with dried tears on her cheeks.

But it's not. I got fucking rapped and lost my virginity and I don't even remember it.

I look away from Thalia and instead look out of the window from my room. I see the doctor and my parents talking.

My dad has his arm wrapped around my mom and Aria's arms are around her stomach while my grandmother is standing next to Aria.

"I would keep an eye on her. What happened was traumatic and from what I told her I don't think she even knew she was sexually assaulted."

"Who would do something like this?" My mom cried and my dad rubbed her arm and kisses her forehead I see his lips moving but I don't know what he said.

"There are sick people in this world."

Yea.

Sick people.

The ball in my throat grows bigger and I feel my breathing pick up. The next thing I know tears are running down my face and I feel Thalia's arms wrap around me.

Chapter One

JANE REYES

Present day

As I walk up to the lecture room that was on my paper, I take a deep breath and shake my hands to get out any nerves.

I open the door and see the professor already setting up the lesson for today, writing down the learning topics on the board.
