  65. About the Author

"Not what the boss told me to do," the man says, shrugging his shoulders.

"What's your name?" I ask while eating.

"Rowan," he states coldly as he watches me eat.

I look back up at him and take some time to admire his features.

He has dark brown hair that looks soft and makes me want to pull at the roots. His eyes are brown with some blue mixed in.

I admire his body and notice the strong tanned biceps underneath the black shirt he is wearing.

He screams familiar.

"Last name?" I ask.

"Valentino," he states in an Italian accent.

That's it.

Thank god, I am going to get out of here.

"Nice to meet you, Rowan," I smile. "What do you go by here?"

"Nicolas. But just letting you know that they are coming to get you."

"Oh, joy," I mutter. "What have I missed since I was gone?"

"Well, your father and Alexander had a fight but other than that they were just trying to find you."

I widen my eyes at Alexander's actions. "Why did they fight?"

"Alexander didn't want to help you," Rowan states calmly.

I roll my eyes. "He's a jackass. Didn't expect anything less." Although I did feel a pang to my heart. I was hoping Alexander would be here to come in and save me but I guess not. "When did you arrive?"

"A few days ago. Your father assigned me to watch over you and make sure that nothing too bad happens," Rowan states.

"Well, I appreciate it."

"They are coming though. I have a feeling Alexander will as well."

"He is an ass. I don't think he is coming," I chuckle.

I say that, yet my mind can’t help but repeat in my head over and over that Alexander didn’t want to help me.

Rowan stands up. "You never know. That boy is in love with you, but he might not know it."

I narrow my eyes at Rowan. "I don't think so."

Rowan comes forward and chains my hand to the wall once I am finished eating. "We will see." He picks up the trash that is on the floor and looks back at me before leaving. "Try not to argue. Just stay quiet and make sure to keep your mouth shut. It will help if you don't get another cut on your lip."

I smile at Rowan. "I'll try."

Rowan leaves and now I am left alone in the dark again.

Thank fucking god they are coming. It shouldn't be long now.

Right?

Twenty Five

It's been probably about a week since the fight with Ace happened. He has called me countless times and so has Aria and my parents. I haven't answered any of them though.

I have just been alone in my house, avoiding everyone. I just don't feel like talking to anyone.

But today I have to go to the De Luca estate because I have to babysit Killian.
