  65. About the Author

We watch Rasputin's body burn in the flames as he screams for mercy and begs to be put out of his misery

Ace has his men come and clean up the body so that he can send it to Russia as Leo, Emma, and I follow him out of the downstairs area.

Once we are back in his office, we all sit down. Ace in his seat, Emma and Leo in the seats in front of his desk, and then me behind him trying to think of a plan.

"What are we going to do? We have no clue what Vladimir is like," Leo says.

"He's right," I say, agreeing with Leo.

Ace then looks up from his desk. "I have an idea, but they won't like it," he states, making me furrow my eyebrows.

"What? Who?" I say looking down at Ace.

"The kids. They won't like it but it's the only thing I can think of right now."

"What is it?"

Ace looks up at me and sighs.

I walk inside the kitchen and I see Killian already sitting down on one of the stools that are pushed into the island.

"Thanks for not telling."

I look at Killian, shocked.

He never says thank you or anything remotely close to that.

"For what?" I raise my eyebrow.

"For not snitching."

I turn and walk to the coffee machine, starting to make my coffee. "I'm no snitch," I state coldly. "Besides I knew that mom and dad would find out, so I just said I didn't know anything."

"Yea I know. Mom told me."

"How long are you grounded for?" I ask as I pour the creamer into my coffee.

"Ehh, they haven't decided on a punishment yet. I got back in last night before Jane came in so they kind of got sidetracked by your situation. Thanks for that too by the way."

I chuckle and turn to look at him. "Well, I have a meeting with mom, dad, Leo, and Emma today. We have to talk about the Russian problem."

Killian furrowed his eyebrows. "Russians? I thought they handled that?"

"They did but I guess they didn't kill all of them. Alexander got information from this Russian we knocked out the other day."

"See what kind of shit I miss out on when I am busy with school or doing normal people things."

I take a sip of my coffee. "You haven't even had your first kill yet either. I had mine when I was around your age. Maybe a little younger."

"What was your first kill like?" Killian asks but before I can answer I hear that dreadful voice.
