"Oh, Jane." I look up and see my grandmother. "Layna! Cole! She is awake!" My grandmother yells, probably waking up anyone who is sleeping on the floor.

I see my mother and father walk in. My mother has some dried-up tears on her face and my father looks like he wants to kill someone.

My mother walks towards me and wraps her arms around me. I hear her sniffling as she hugs me.

"You're okay." She whispers in my ear. "I'll find out who did this to you."

"I'm going to kill this son of a bitch." I hear my father muttered.

Who?

My mom lets go of me and she sits down next to me on the bed. "Are you okay? Do you need anything?"

I need to know what happened. I need to know if what happened was a dream or not.

I shake my head 'no'.

My father walks closer to me. "Someone at the gala found you outside on the balcony laying down. He thought you fainted, so he brought you to the hospital and the hospital called us."

"I'm going to get the doctor and call in Aria and Thalia." My grandmother said before walking out of the room.

I look at my mother and father but don't say anything.

I can't.

It's like there is a ball stuck in my throat as I try to hold back any tears I have.

"The doctor will help us figure out what happened. While you were asleep, she took some tests on you and also gave you an IV drip to bring your strength back up." My mother explained.

After a few minutes of saying nothing to one another and my parents just staring at me, the doctor walks in with a file and my grandmother, Thalia, and Aria behind her.

"Hello, Jane. How are you?"

I don't answer her but she walks closer to me, and I just look up at her waiting for her to tell me what happened.

What happened? What's wrong with me?

"I want you to know I'm not going to hurt you, Jane. You're safe here." The doctor said and she looked at my parents before looking back at me.

Tell me what the fuck happened.

"While you were sleeping, I did some tests on you to see why you fainted so suddenly. Your blood pressure was normal and so was your heart rate. But while I did some tests, I saw some bruises on your thighs and arms. I even saw some bruises on your neck and chest. And when I checked your bottom, I saw blood."

The ball in my throat grows bigger and I feel as if I'm going to choke.

Tears start to form in my eyes as I connect the dots.

I look at my mom and I see tears running down her face.

Tell me this is a dream. Please tell me this isn't real.
