Tonight was the grand re-opening of the Tower of Sin. My Tower of Sin. Complete with renovations and updates to the restaurants, stores, show line-ups, and more.
It was a party. I’d made sure to invite all the biggest players of our greedy little island. Which was certainly a bad idea but I tended to like those.
The big, bad guys of Neo Atlantis were here. Real trash—rabbit god kingpins, the ferocious Alpha of the Lycan Stalkers, drug lords, blackmailers, and probably even human traffickers. I hoped they planned to gamble everything away. My pockets were endlessly deep and my Greed could fill an ocean.
The tables were packed tight with people letting loose, trading in their fat stacks of cash for my pretty little chips. The servers were quick on their feet with drinks, making sure everyone stayed on the side of drunk that kept them making bad decisions all night long.
I was nestled against the bar, nursing an Irish whiskey as I looked out around my kingdom. The reflection of my green eyes glowed in the glass as I lifted it to my lips. They always glowed now despite my Greed being maintained by my casino. The men also helped of course. Puca could give me a thrill, Lorcan could feed my Greed with his hunger, and Dullahan was the smooth drink to wash it all down with—calming my nerves and making me relax.
The taste of my drink suddenly changed. A poignant flavor of sweet and spicy slid across my tongue. A strange but delightful combination. One I knew very well.
I felt prickles on the back of my neck as a body slid up next to me at the bar. Horns extended from his unnaturally red hair and his red and black eyes swirled hypnotically as they tried to pull me in.
“The first thing you said to me was right here,” he started, his fingers sliding up my arm, “And it was that I had the wrong person.” A smile spread over his handsome face and I found myself lost in it for a moment.
“I had thought you were hired to get back something I stole,” I admitted. “Little did I know you were kidnapping me.”
“To be fair, I didn’t want to kidnap you. That was the other two.”
“Hmm, that’s true. You just wanted to keep fucking me in my dreams night after night.”
“I still do,” he purred. The bar patrons were swaying in closer. They inched their way toward Lorcan, drawn in by his unnatural appeal. He didn’t even notice them now, his eyes roving my body as he stepped in closer. I leaned harder against the bar, my knees feeling weak as the warm press of his body made me feel dizzy.
Then his mouth was on mine and I could barely tell which way was up and which way was down. My head was swimming in the red sea of his lust, the brush of his invisible power feathering over my skin and fanning the flames of my building lust.
