Doing as he said, I watched and felt as his cum shot onto my pussy, coating it. Hitting my clit and dripping down.

Ward put his arms to the back of the couch and leaned down, kissing me. “As good as your fantasy?”

It wasn’t.

Not at all.

Which was why I told him the truth. “Infinitely better.”

30. A Little Casual Attempted Murder

CHAPTER 30

A LITTLE CASUAL ATTEMPTED MURDER

HOLLYWOOD

“Sure I can’t convince you to cancel?” I asked.

And not for the first time. I’d practically begged while I’d bent her over my kitchen table after breakfast.

Mac laughed as she unlocked her door. “You’re the one who said I should do this.”

“No, O said you should do this.”

“But you encouraged me to accept her invitation.”

She had me there.

“Anyway,” she added, “you said you have work today.”

She had me there, too.

“We’ll both skip,” I tried.

It was pathetic as shit how obsessed I’d become.

After acting out her fantasy on my couch, she’d been out before I’d even finished cleaning her up. For the second night in a row, I’d held her, unable to sleep. But that time, rather than being haunted, I’d been figuring out how to talk to Mac.

How to convince her to marry me.

I decided to ease her in.

My version of it.

“You know,” I started, touching the ugly-ass curtains I would replace. And burn. It was the only way to save my soul from the damn bears. “We wouldn’t have to paint and shit if you just moved in with me.”

Mac spun around so fast that the momentum from her belly nearly took her down. She reached out to steady herself on the couch before I could get to her. “What?”

“You heard me.”

“I can’t move in.”

“Why?”

“Because that’s… It’s crazy. That’s way too fast.”

“That’s me going slow,” I told her bluntly. “’Cause what I really wanna do is marry you. But we’ll start with you moving in.”

Her eyes went wide, her mouth dropping open. “You really are insane. Certifiable.”

“Maybe. But not about this.”

“We were just supposed to be friends,” she said, pacing the small space. “Not even friends. We were supposed to be neighbors. But then you were so charming and sweet and persuasive. And hot. And you cooked for me. Who could resist that? Not me. But this was supposed to be casual, Ward. A fun time with a friend.”

“Says who?”

“Me.”

I stalked toward her. “Do I feel like a friend to you, Mac?”

She inhaled sharply, her body swaying into mine. “A good friend.”

“Did last night on my couch feel like something good friends do?”

“Really, really good friends,” she breathed.

“I’m fuckin’ obsessed with you, neighbor.”
