Even passed out, Martin shrieked in pain, vomiting bile and blood.

It wasn’t a motorcycle to the crotch, but it’d do.

“I’ve been wanting to do that,” Glitch said as we walked from the room.

“Beat the piss out of a piece of human garbage?”

“No. Well, yeah, always that. But step on someone’s dick like that. Nox told me Kase’s woman did it and almost exploded a man’s shillelagh.”

Fuck. O had kicked a man in the balls till he barfed, and I’d thought that was badass. Almost exploding it won, though.

Once we got outside, Glitch pulled out his untraceable burner and called 911. “I’d like to report a child predator.” He gave the address and then hung up without answering any more questions.

We moved into the shadows and waited. Sure enough, a cop car rolled on the place within minutes. Shortly after that, more cops, unmarked cars, an ambulance, and whatever else.

I wasn’t worried about them finding DNA. If they asked, Beth would tell them we’d been there earlier to help her move—which wasn’t a lie.

The rest of the brothers were sitting at a high top table at Rye. They’d swear Glitch and I were at the bar with them the whole night. The owner and security would swear it, too.

No one would lose sleep over it.

That said, if the cops were smart, they’d use the evidence Glitch handed them and chalk Martin’s injuries up to an unsolvable mystery.

Other people deserved their time and effort.

Glitch and I casually walked to where we’d left our bikes a few streets over.

“You coming to Rye?” he asked.

“Nah, heading home.”

I had a promise to make good on.

CHAPTER 27

FUCK THE BAD DAYS AWAY

MAC

I hadn’t planned to fall asleep.

Ward had texted a few times that everything was fine, but he’d be home late.

I’d wanted to wait up so I could see that for myself. Last I knew, I’d been sitting on Ward’s couch and watching TV.

But the incredible pressure building between my legs said I had to be dreaming.

“I know you’re awake, baby.”

“No, I’m not,” I moaned, reaching down blindly until I felt his hair. For some reason, it was damp, but that didn’t matter. Weird things happened in dreams. I held his head to me, rocking my hips against him. “This is definitely a good dream. The best dream.” His shoulder bumped my thigh, and my eyes snapped open. “I want to see.”

He pulled away just long enough to bark, “Living room lights on.”
