- About the Author
"Hi." I turn my head and look at a girl who was probably a couple of inches shorter than me. She is the girl who wouldn't stop staring at me from across the room. Now that she is much closer to me, I can see her bright blue eyes from up close and then her light brown hair that looks really really soft. The dress she is wearing white “which makes her look so innocent and pure. "I’m Reign." She said with that fucking smile on her face as she thrust her hand towards me to shake.
I look down at her hand and then look back at her. "Killian," I muttered but didn't shake her hand.
"So, what are you doing out here all alone Killian?" Reign asked while looking around at the scenery in front of us.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Came to take a break."
"From what?" Reign asked as she brought her eyes back to me.
"People inside."
"You don't talk very much, do you?"
"I don't like talking to people," I stated bluntly.
"Why not?" She furrows her eyebrows, confused at what I said.
"Because it's a waste of time when they don't listen."
"I can listen." She offered while her cheeks blush a little bit. "But if you don't like to talk then I can do most of the talking. My family hates that I talk too much, and I wish there were more people I could talk to because I feel like they don't ever listen to me either." Reign rambled before looking at the sky above us. "I sometimes go outside my house and sit outside to stare at the stars. I would talk for hours to myself while looking at them. Kind of weird right?" Reign snickered.
"As long as nobody catches you talking to yourself then it's not weird."
Reign looks at me and I see a smile lift on her face, and I feel a smile lift on mine too as I see her face brighten.
"Killian, I think that you and I could be really good-" Before Reign could finish, I hear someone yell her name.
"Reign! What are you doing out here?!" I see a tall man; he looks like the one who was talking on stage in front of everyone. He looks down at me and I see his face turn into disgust. "Why are you talking to him?!" He hissed at Reign.
I clench my fist as I see Reign try to look away from the man, who I assume is her father.
"We were just playing dad." Reign mumbles.
"You aren't here for fun!" Her father hisses.
