- About the Author
Knowing he didn’t understand, I held up my hands. “Calm down. I was doing you a favor. Those two aren’t really—”
He didn’t let me finish. Shoving my shoulders back, he snipped, “Just because you’re all tied down and shit, doesn’t mean I am. Don’t try and parent me, fuckwad.”
Annoyed, I stepped away from him. “I’m not. Go. Have sex with them.” A smirk slipped onto my face, and I couldn’t help but add, “Good luck.”
He gave me a derisive sniff as he tucked his hair behind his ears. “I don’t need luck. Those chicks want me.”
God, he was so oblivious sometimes. Well, when he finally did figure it out, I would happily let him know that I’d tried to tell him. Shaking my head, I walked away to find my bandmates that thought with their upstairs brain.
Evan and Matt were huddled together, working on a melody from what I could tell. Matt looked up when he sensed me in front of him. His face instantly lit up. “Kellan, did you hear? We got moved up the lineup. We’re right under Avoiding Redemption now.”
The look on his face matched the feeling in my chest. “I know, I was just coming to tell you. What the fuck, right?”
Over Matt’s shoulder, I saw Paul scowling at me. His band would be the opening act now…and he didn’t look pleased about that. I didn’t ask to be moved. It’s not my fault, man. Ignoring the hatred in his eyes, I looked back at Matt. “Hey, you might want to go find Griffin.”
Matt’s nose wrinkled as he grimaced. “Why?”
With a sigh, I said, “I think he’s about to try and have sex with a couple guys.”
Matt’s eyes widened as his jaw dropped. Griffin liked to joke around, but ultimately, he was straight, and Matt knew that. "Is he…experimenting?” he asked.
I shook my head. “I don’t think so." When Matt looked even more confused, I shrugged and explained. “They’re dressed like women. I honestly don’t think he knows. I tried to help him out, stop him before it got too far, but you know how he is…he just got all pissy and defiant.”
Matt and Evan just stared at me for a second. Then they both started laughing. Tears in his eyes, Matt clutched his stomach. “Oh my God…I have to see this.”
He shot up off the couch to go find his cousin, and I sat down beside Evan with a sigh. He was still laughing. When he could speak, he looked over at me and shook his head. “Second in the lineup…someone noticed us, man. Think this could be it? The start of something bigger?”
