- About the Author
I heard Anna giggle, then she was lying on the noisy bed, head in her hands as she looked down at us on the floor. The expression on her face was full of amusement. As Kiera returned to my arms, Anna laughed out, “Well, I was going to wish you a Merry Christmas and ask if you wanted to head downstairs with me, but I can see that you’ve already unwrapped your present.” Her gaze shifted to me. “Hey, Kellan, glad you finally made it.”
Her comment made me laugh. “Hey, Anna. Thanks.”
Kiera started covering more of my chest with the blanket, like she didn’t want Anna to see even that much of me. It was cute, although, I kind of understood why she felt that way—Anna was thoroughly enjoying the view. With a sigh, Kiera asked her sister, “What time is it?”
Anna tore her gaze from my chest. “It’s breakfast time…Mom’s making eggs.”
That made me a little sad. I wasn’t ready to stop cuddling. The news freaked out Kiera though. She sat up straight, ripping most of the covers off my chest as she took them with her. “Breakfast…Is Dad up?”
Anna grinned as her view of me returned. “Yep.” She pointed at me. “And he’d better get out of here before Dad realizes he’s not on the couch.”
Kiera instantly started pushing me, trying to shove me out of the blankets with all her might. She did remember I was naked, right? Thinking she wouldn’t want me to give Anna a peep show, I fought against her. “Kiera, relax.” I’ll get up when Anna leaves.
She was too freaked out to think this through. Shaking her head, she pushed harder. “No, Anna’s right, he’s gonna kill you if you’re up here.”
I gave her an incredulous look. He might be overprotective, but I highly doubted he’d actually harm me. He wasn’t like my dad. I already knew that much. “What’s he going to do, really? Ground you?” He might be mad at her, but in the end, she was an adult. We both were. He’d get over it.
Kiera didn’t see it my way. Shoving my shoulder, she nodded. “Yes, right after he castrates you.”
Her words reminded me of Evan’s snickered warnings. God. Fine. I didn’t really want his first impression of me to be one full of anger anyway. Since Kiera didn’t seem to care about my nakedness, I stopped fighting her and simply stood up. Anna had a millisecond to grin at me before Kiera slapped her hand over her eyes.
