He had, after all, volunteered there during med school. It had been several years since hed volunteered in any capacity, but he assumed not much had changed. He ran the logistics through his headwhere he needed to park, how he could manage to fit in without getting caught, how to pull it off and escape. It might take a few minutes of careful snooping and planning, but unless there had been drastic changes to the place, he thought it might be entirely possible to kill Seth Dillinger and get away. He knew that if he arrived at the hospital in dire need of that kidney, there was a good chance hed be moved up the list. And how in Gods good name was that fair to the others on the list?
Nerves sank in like stones in his stomach as he made his way to the hospital. He had the knife with him. He had, after all, been planning to use it elsewhere before hed realized the police were on to him. But he doubted hed use it. There was no way he could walk into a hospital with a knife on him. That was something else he was going to have figure out on the fly.
Its about time you manned up and got to work, her voice said in his head. Of course, you waited too long and now the police are involved. Because of that, this will probably be the last oneso for Gods sake make sure you do it right!
He gritted his teeth against the tiring, grating sound of her voice. But he heard it all the same, her voice tearing him down and asking why he wasnt capable of more as he made his way to the hospital. He pulled into the main drive and bypassed the parking garage. He went around to the back lot on the eastern corner, where hed parked multiple times when hed been a volunteer. The only problem he was going to have was that he did not have the lanyard that volunteers were required to wear. But he thought he knew how to fix that when he stepped inside.
When he got out of his car, he walked to the rear entrance where most of the volunteers and some of the RNs would hurry out to leave for a quick lunch break when they didnt feel like heading down to the cafeteria. As hed expected, there was no one there. He made his way inside easily and continued to walk with confidence, as if he belonged there just as much as anyone else. He was walking in this same manner when he walked into the second room on his right. It was a small changing room, not quite the size of the locker room the nurses used; that one was further down the hallway.
